MBA General Management (MBA GM)

Admission Requirements / Application

To enroll in the MBA General Management Program, applicants have to prove that they have:

  • successfully completed studies of at least six semesters at a university or
  • college or
  • a corresponding foreign university

In addition, applicants have to verify that they have

  • 3 – 10 years work experience and
  • an adequate level of English language proficiency (TOEFL)

Registrations are accepted throughout the year and are applied for the upcoming year as long as free places are available.

Application deadline for the summer semester at the Dortmund campus is March 31st; application deadline for the winter semester at the Munich campus is September 30th.

The next step in the admissions process is an invitation to a

CV, Resume
CV and Resumes should be formatted in tabular form.

Two academic or employer references
A minimum of at least two letters of reference must be included in the application.

Copy of undergraduate and further education qualifications
At least one certificate of an academic degree must be submitted prior to the application date.

Evidence of minimum of 3 years professional, full-time work experience
All relevant employment and internship references from previous employers must be included in the application.

Letter of Motivation
This is a clear, concise personal statement (not more than one DIN A4 page) stating the applicant’s motivation for studying at the ISM. Why should the admissions committee grant the applicant a place in the program?

Application Form
Applicants can request that an application form be sent by mail together with the program information or can downloaded the application as a pdf file.

Verification of English Knowledge
As courses are held in English, non-native speakers are required to complete the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum requirement of 233 points (computer based) or 90 points (Internet based).

Personal Interview
The personal interview is held in English. The aim of this interview is to assess an applicant’s motivation and qualifications as well as to measure English language proficiency.
