Master's Program Strategic Tourism ManagementQualification through the STM ProgramThrough this Master’s Program, students gain the necessary industry and business expertise to become managers in the tourism sector. By focusing intensively on the value chain of the tourism industry, students learn how different providers work together. Students can focus on the core businesses of the tourism industry such as travel agencies, hotels, transportation companies, and touristic destinations. In addition, they can examine supplementary branches of tourism such as exhibitions and congresses. At the same time, students acquire specific business knowledge, including controlling, accounting, and human resources. Students learn how to develop, promote, and distribute touristic products. Foreign language classes in French or Spanish, as well as lectures held in English, are a core part of the program. This combination of general know-how and a specific focus on the tourism value chain qualifies students for positions in small, medium-sized, and large corporations. While small businesses usually look for generalists who can take on a wide variety of tasks, large corporations often need specialists who can apply their knowledge of specific business areas such as product development, communication, or sales. |
