Qualifications in Corporate Finance

The modern and ever-globalizing economy is influenced by financial issues, interests, and data. Money and capital are the basis of any successful business project. Over the last few years, financial management has become the key function in corporate management. This trend reached major corporations long ago, and has now expanded to almost all medium-sized companies. The importance of this process is confirmed by the discussions about Basel II and its consequences for the financing of mid-sized companies. As a result, companies need qualified junior managers with a solid hands-on and international education in business management and finance. Managers need excellent skills in several foreign languages, soft skills, and practical experience working in the corporate world. Majoring in Corporate Finance, students gain a wide spectrum of business and financial knowledge. In addition, they choose electives based on their individual preferences. As a result, students are qualified to assume both generalist positions such as executive assistant or financial officer, as well as specialist positions in the areas of commercial management, finance, and controlling. These qualifications are gaining increasing importance in the area of management consulting.

"Financial markets are characterized by increasing global interdependencies. This results in dynamic markets with a high level of price fluctuation and a huge number of financial innovations. New challenges are created by the growing demand for individually-tailored, holistic investment plans and creative financing opportunities for companies. Graduates of the Corporate Finance program offer not just technical and analytical skills, but also intercultural and interpersonal competencies, which are essential to meet market demands."
