Qualifications in Communications & Marketing

The flood of information and global competition make it increasingly difficult for companies to communicate with their customers. International companies face new communication challenges due to cultural differences. Additionally, goal-oriented communication requires a fundamental understanding of the message contents. To address these requirements “Business Communication” students gain a basic business education which is completed through communication specific classes.

Key subjects, such as media management, journalism, and public relations, offer various qualification opportunities. Classes include mission statement development, brand management, PR strategies, journalism, broadcast management, and scientific media research.

Students learn the variety of communication differences in the business fields of media, services, manufacturing, and retail.

A practical approach is pursued in “Business Communication” studies. Required studies include a domestic internship, an internship abroad, and two integrated consulting projects. Bachelors students are guaranteed an experience with actual business challenges and problem solving.

Students spend a semester, a language course, and an internship abroad to acquire foreign language skills and intercultural competence. Students may gain a competitive advantage on the job market by finishing their studies half a semester earlier than students of other universities. Alternatively, they may complete an additional internship before commencing the short sixth semester. Students who continue their studies can obtain a master’s degree in their field of studies in four years.
